Being Different Can Be a Good Thing!

Matt, noticed that Alicia always prayed before she ate her lunch—no matter who was around.  He also noted that her meals were different, and that she was a vegetarian. For the three years Matt has observed her unchanging behavior and from time to time, he would mention Alicia to his parents, her eating habits, her prayers, and all the "odd" things she did.

Recently, Matt invited Alicia and her sister Alexis to a teen gathering at his home.  Matt's parents immediately noticed that these two young ladies were very different than the other teens.

"I must know about your church and your beliefs," one of the parents asked. After hearing the girl’s sound answers, Matt’s mom said, "We'd like to visit. Can you give me the address?" The girls didn't know the answer to that question, so they promptly called home to get the church address. They also shared with Matt's mom the details of the services and fellowship dinner.

The following Sabbath the entire family met Alicia and her family in the church parking lot. Now they attend regularly. "The world is so corrupt,” Matt’s mom commented to Alicia’s mom, “and I am noticing it even more with my kids getting closer to their teens.  It's scary.  I want my children to carry the same spirit that Alicia and Alexis have."

Alicia’s family is excited about this opportunity to "Touch Every 1 for Jesus." Alicia’s mom commented, "There are five of us, and five people have been touched for Jesus, so we've all done our part."

"Oh, no, Mom," Alicia replied. "Matt and his family are ours.  You've got to find your own person to touch for Jesus."
